Equivalent Exchange offers full care horse boarding:

• $550/month

  • Invoices are sent prior to the first of each month. Invoices are due by the first of each month. ​

• Horses need friends, freedom, and forage. ​

  • Large grass pastures, quality hay offered in the winter and as needed in the spring and summer. Hay type varies depending on the needs of the horses in each pasture. 

  • 24/7 turn out with access to a stall at all times 

  • Friendly pasture pals

• Horses are fed twice daily. ​

• Board price includes 

  • A variety of feed options

    • Tribute Kalm and EZ

    • Tribute Kalm Ultra 

    • Tribute Essential K ration balancer 

    • Additional supplements/feed per horse (optional)

      • Alfalfa pellets- $30/Month

      • Tribute Constant Comfort- $30/Month 

      • Tribute Finish- $50/Month 

  • Blanketing ​(winter), fly control (summer)

    • Done per individual owners request

    • Blankets and other supplies (fly masks, boots, etc.) must be provided for your horse 

  • Use of 160' x 240' outdoor riding arena with lights & trails 

    • Riding available 7am-9pm, 7 days a week

      • Riding lessons have priority in the ring. If you ride during a lesson, please yield to the lesson riders. ​

      • For your safety, please do not ride alone

  • Horse trailer parking at no additional cost 

  • Farrier and vetting are not included 

    • Every horse ​must have an up to date negative Coggins and vaccines prior to coming on property and the owner must maintain proper vet care & hoof care. 

    • Owners may bring in their own vet and/or farrier or use ours. 

      • EEEA recommended equine professionals 

Reminders for Boarders

• Boarders are expected to have all basic supplies on hand, including but not limited to: basic medications (e.g. bute, banamine), basic wound and skin care products (e.g. equiderma, antifungal creams and/or shampoo, MTG, antibiotic ointment, vet wrap, thermometer), hoof care products (e.g. hoof pick, thrush treatment, hoof conditioner), and grooming supplies (brushes, shampoo/conditioner). 

  • If barn supplies are used for medications, skin or hoof products, shampoos, ointments, etc. a fee will apply per use. Fee will depend on the product being used and added to the following month’s invoice. 

• Boarders with horses in work are expected to have properly fitting tack as well as caring for the horse appropriately. This is determined by each individual horse’s needs and may include but is not limited to saddle fitting, chiro, corrective hoof care, massage, and regular dentals. If you cannot afford to care for your horse on these basic levels, your coached shows and off site events will be paused until you can.  

• Boarders do not have to lesson or train with EEEA trainers; however, outside trainers are not permitted at Willowdale. 

• Basic wear and tear is expected. If your horse is destructive (breaking fences, gates, stall doors, etc.) you will be invoiced for the repairs and replacement parts. 

• Need help keeping your horse in work? Boarded horses can be used in the EEEA lesson program for a reduced rate on your board or training rides. Requirements to add your horse to the program:

  • Must be able to safely walk/trot/canter in the ring and on the trails with a minimum of intermediate rider, preferably for beginners or advanced beginners. 

  • Not required to jump but would be ideal if horse can do cross rails up to 2ft courses. 

  • Horse must be sound. 

  • Horse must be safe for a beginner to handle on the ground.

  • Horse must have properly fitting tack.

  • EEEA trainers will determine if your horse is a good fit for the lesson program.
